Gentry “Gent” Dills, age 86, of Blairsville passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness. Mr. Dills was born on September 17, 1930 to the late Sylvester and Arvie Brackett Dills. Gent loved building windmills and bird houses. He loved to be busy tinkering and always had the biggest smile. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch counting cars and waving at the neighbors. Gentry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary who passed away in 2000.

Surviving Gentry is his son and daughter in law, Bobby and Tina Rogers of Blairsville, one grandson Chance Rogers of Blairsville, Brother Bill Clement, also of Blairsville. Several nephews and many other friends also survive.

Services for Gentry will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 29th in the Mountain View Funeral Home chapel. Interment will be in the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 – 9:00 pm on Sunday, May 28th. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church cemetery fund in Gent’s memory. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
