Mr. James(Jimmy) Thompson, age 56, of Blairsville, passed away on June 26, 2017 at Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Thompson was born on September 23, 1960 in Ocean Side NY, the son of the late George H. Thompson and Lorraine Markowski. Mr. Thompson worked for the Union County School System, and in his spare time he enjoyed working on cars. Mr. Thompson was of the Episcopalian faith.

Surviving Mr. Thompson are his loving wife of 34 years Cathy Thompson, son Jonathon Thompson of Blairsville, GA, son Patrick Thompson of Blairsville, GA, sister Toni Carley of NY, and many other friends and relatives also survive.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 29, 2017 between the hours of 3:00PM and 6:00PM at the funeral home, with a memorial service to follow visitation. Flowers are accepted.
