Mr. Kenneth Hobert Collins age 86 of Bald Mtn. Creek Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully at his home  surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness. Mr. Collins was born on January 4, 1932 in Blairsville, GA., the son of the late Thirston Collins and the late Juanita Scruggs Collins. He was a veteran of the US Army of the Korean War. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He was a member of the VFW. Kenneth enjoyed Ham Radio’s. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Marlene Nelms, brother, Ted Collins , sister in law, Condice Collins and two nephews, Tim Cook and Corey Collins. Kenneth attended Old Liberty Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Collins are his loving wife and best friend of fifty years, Nancy Collins of Blairsville, one daughter and son in law, Gale and Gary Tate of Praragould, AR., one son and daughter in law, Michael and Lauren Collins of Blairsville, two sisters and brothers in law, Annette and Charles Satterfield of Blairsville, Aldarea and David King of Murrayville, TN., four brothers and three sisters in law, Louin and Rose Collins of Live Oak, FL., Noel and Margaret Collins of Clarksville, GA., Melvin Collins of Knoxville, TN., Stephen and Christine Collins of Blairsville, sister in law, Barbara Collins of Franklin, NC., three grandchildren, Madison, Blake and Lindsey Collins, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 13, 2018 at 4:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Harley Hunter officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Matthew Cook, Conner Cook, Stephen Collins, Melvin Collins, Sean Barnett and Chase Barnett. Interment will follow in the Old Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with the North GA Honor Guard conducting Military Honors. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Old Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in memory of Mr. Collins. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9:00 pm.
