Mr. James Henry Russell Jr. age 68 of Ledford Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday August 22, 2014 surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness. James was born on Sept. 18, 1946 in Pathfork, KY., the son of the late James Henry Russell Sr. and the late Mollie Partin Russell. James enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was preceded in death by a grand daughter, Jennifer Beavers and a sister, Edna Mae Bingham. James was a member of Nottley Baptist Church. Surviving Mr. Russell are his loving wife and best friend of forty three years, Evelyn Katherine Nix Russell of Blairsville, one son and daughter in law, Kevin and Stacy Russell of Blairsville, one daughter, Anita Russell Franklin of Blairsville, three brothers and two sisters in law, Thomas and Sue Russell of Flowery Branch, GA,. Arra Russell of Flowery Branch, William and Lisa Russell of Pendergrass, GA., one sister and brother in law, Emma and Dee White of Andrews, six grandchildren, Brittany Ann Gaddis, Evan Russell, Lane Russell and Kiley Russell, Tyler McCarley and T.J. and Julia McCarley., all of Blairsville, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Monday August 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Clayton Reeves officiating. Special music will be presented by Darla Norton, Kenneth Arrowood and Jordan Thompson. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Jordan Thompson, Davey Arrowood, David Owens, Wayne Thompson, Hunter Nix and Jack Guffey. Interment will follow in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5-9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help defray expenses in memory of Mr. Russell.
