Nellie Mae Watson Duncan of Blairsville, Georgia passed away August 26. She was born October 3, 1924 in Gold Hill, North Carolina to the late William Curtis Watson and Lola Glover Watson. Our beloved mother has gone to join her husband, William Gordon Duncan and her four brothers and sisters, Evelyn Watson Hopkins, Herbert Watson, Floyd Watson and Maxine Watson King. Nell is survived by her four children, Patti Duncan Sosebee and her husband, Tommy, Bill Duncan and his wife, Patti, Randy Duncan and his wife, Nancy and Michael Duncan and his wife, Wanda. She has ten grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She graduated from China Grove High School in 1941. She married her childhood sweetheart, William, in 1948. While living in Salisbury, North Carolina, she worked for Sherrill – Smith in accounting. Upon moving to Atlanta with her family, she worked for A&P Food Stores and Buckhead Beef in accounting. She retired in 2003. Nell will be remembered as a loving and giving mother that gave her all to family and friends. She loved life and loved to travel. Graveside services will be held on Saturday August 29, 2015 from the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in China Grove, NC. with the Rev. Lloyd Ginn officiating. The family will meet with friends at the Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Chino Grove from 1-2:30 prior to the services at the graveside.
