Vendetta Jolene Rogers, 81 of Liberty Hill Rd, Blairsville, GA, Passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 at her home following an extended illness. She was born November 17, 1933 in Fannin County, Georgia to the late Harley and Laura Brackett Pickelsimer. Vendetta was a lifelong resident of Fannin County. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Powell in 2012 and 2 granddaughters Tammy Martin and Trisha Rogers. Vendetta was a member of Liberty Hill Methodist Church. Surviving Mrs. Rogers are three sons and daughters in law, Danny and Jenny Holt of Blairsville, Mel Holt and Christine Waters of Blairsville, Bobby and Tina Rogers of Blairsville, one daughter Juanita Holloway of Blairsville, niece, Amelia Whitmire, six grandchildren, Chance Rogers, Robin Stephens, James Patterson, Nathan Patterson, Jennica Holt and Melena Holt, six great grandchildren, twelve step great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Monday September 7, 2015 at 11:00 am from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. William Sisum officiating. Special music will be presented by Redeemed. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, James and Nathan Patterson, Chance Rogers, Casey Crawford, Michael Whitmire and John Stephens. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Hayden and Lance Patterson, Lane Crawford, Kolton Stephens and Vince Richards. Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-9:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
