Mr. Owen William Trull of Blairsville, Georgia passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on Sunday September 20, 2015 following an extended illness. Mr. Trull was born on June 17, 1935 in Candler, North Carolina, the son of the late Otis Trull and the late Leila Shope Trull. Before his retirement, he was an Executive with Cotton States Insurance Company for many years. He was also a National Guard veteran and an avid gardener. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. Owen was preceded in death by his wife after 55 years of marriage, Faye Phillips Trull in 2014. Owen was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church. Surviving Mr. Trull are two sons, Mark Trull of Blairsville and Keith Trull of Colorado, his three grandchildren, which he was so proud of, Amanda Trull, who is an Attorney for a Federal Judge in Atlanta, Anna Trull, who is a Middle School Teacher in Cherokee County, GA., and Adam Trull, who is a Junior at Young Harris College; many other relatives and friends also survive. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday September 26, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Shady Grove Methodist Church with the Rev. Winfred Pitts officiating. Special music will be presented by Fred Bruder. Military Honors will be conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The American Cancer Society or to the Shady Grove Methodist Church Building Fund in memory of Mr. Trull. The family will receive visitors at the church following the service. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
