Mr. Floyd Earl Bollinger age 89 of Reece Creek Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 3, 2015 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Bollinger was born on May 26, 1926 in Kansas City, KS the son of the late Lyndon Bollinger and the late Esther Mallory Bollinger. He was a veteran of the US Army of WWII. Before his retirement he was a Division Controller with General Motors for over thirty years. He had a Bachelors Degree from the University of Missouri. Floyd was a member of the Mechanicsburg Masonic Lodge #392 F&AM, the Scottish Rite, a Shriner and the NRA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his first wife of fifty years, Leona Bollinger. Floyd was of the Baptist faith. Surviving Mr. Bollinger are his loving wife and friend, Donna Voyles Bollinger of Blairsville, one daughter and son in law, Carol and John Yates of Marietta, GA., one son, David Bollinger of Anderson, IN., five grandchildren, Evan, David and Taylor Yates, Becky and Stacy Bollinger, two great grandchildren, Jordyn Bollinger and Jordan Yates, many other relatives and friends also survive. A memorial service will be held on Friday November 6, 2015 at 12:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Asa Dockery officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the North GA Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, Ks. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to a Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in memory of Mr. Bollinger. The family will meet with friends following the services.
