Mrs. Martha Pinyan Foster passed away peacefully on February 18, 2016 at the age of 81. Mrs. Foster was born on August 8, 1934 in Cherokee County, GA. The daughter of the late Ralph and Gladys Pinyan began her career at Lockheed Martin in 1951 at the age of 17. Martha was the first female liaison between the US Air Force and Lockheed Martin. During her 42 years of service she held highly sought after positions and was the recipient of many awards. Martha enjoyed spending time with her family and great grandchildren, she loved reading, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother.She was preceded in death by her parents and also five sisters, Elizabeth Hopkins, Dorothy Fordham, MaeRee Robison, Patricia Foster, and Patsy Pinyan. Martha was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Hayesville, North Carolina. . Surviving Mrs. Foster are two daughters and son in law, Dawn Aderhold of Atlanta, Tyra and Frank Woodard of Hayesville, NC., five grandchildren, Trevor, Haley, Chase, Chloe,and Jones. Martha particularly enjoyed her three great grandchildren Case, Braun, and Tate. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday Feb. 21, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Union County Chamber of Commerce Community Center. Pastor Keith Nuckolls officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations may be made to Regency Hospice of Hiawassee, GA. or to the American Heart Association.
