Mr. Anthony “Tony” Lamar Burrell age 61 of Pleasant Hill Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully on Saturday Feb. 20, 2016 following a brief illness. Tony was born on March 12, 1954 in Young Harris, GA., the son of the late Jack Burrell and the late Louise Kelley Burrell. He was a lifelong resident of Union County. Tony had owned and operated Tony’s Garbage Service for over the past seventeen years. He loved woodworking, motorcycle racing, his animals and gospel and country music. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Lynn Adams Burrell in 2015 and his parents, Jack Floyd Burrell and Louise DeLong. Tony was a great father who loved his sons. Tony was of the Baptist faith. Surviving Tony are two sons, Jackson Burrell of Blairsville, Luke Goodman of Blairsville, step father, Ron DeLong of Blairsville, one brother and sister in law, Freddy and Stacy Burrell, four sisters and brothers in law, Judy and Eddy Spiva, Janet and Sam Chapman, Jackie and David Chatham, Kelley and Phil Chapman, his father in law and mother in law, Tommy and Gwenn Adams all of Blairsville, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Feb. 23, 2016 at 11:00 am from the House of Prayer Church with the Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Special music will be presented by Kim Thomas and Mildred Lecroy. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Eddy Spiva, Sam Chapman, David Chatham, Terry Helton, Mark Burrell and Phil Chapman. Interment will follow in the House of Prayer Church Cemetery. The family will meet with friends on Monday evening from 6-9:00 pm at the House of Prayer Church. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
