Mrs. Myrtle Naomi Evans age 79 of Birlie Deyton Drive Blairsville passed away peacefully on Wednesday Feb. 24, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family following a long battle with cancer. Myrtle was born on April 16, 1936 in Blairsville, GA., the baby daughter of the late Mack Deyton and the late Sadie Deyton. She lived most of her life in Hall County. She and her Husband Tommy Evans moved to Blairsville in 1994. Mytle loved gardening, growing flowers and gospel music. She also enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by Tommy Evans in April 2013 also by five brothers, Purley, Birlie, Bernie, Leon and Uranus, four sisters, Ethel Queen, Irene Dyer, Mary E. Ramey and Bonnie Mae Duckworth. Myrtle was of the Baptist faith. Surviving Myrtle are one son and daughter in law, Michael and Kathryn Coker of Lula, three daughters and sons in law, Susan and Michael Arvold of Winder, Janet and Dean Skinner of Cumming, Patsy and John Propst of Blairsville, one sister, Flora Belle Lee of Blairsville, her Boston Terrie and companion, April, six grandchildren, Justin, Casey, Cody, Shane, Cassie and Allison, one great grandchild, Nola, several nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Friday Feb. 26, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev/ Larry Stover officiating. Special music will be presented by Susan Arvold. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Kenneth, Bobby, Matt, Scott, Adam and Chad Deyton. Interment will follow in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11:00 am. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
