Mr. John William Snow, age 84 of Green Lane Blairsville passed away peacefully on Thursday March 17, 2016 at his home following an extended illness.

Mr. Snow was born on Nov. 19, 1931 in Young Harris, GA. the son of the late Lewis Snow and the late Bonnie Duckworth Snow. John was a lifelong resident of Union County. He was a veteran of the US Army of the Korean War. John was the first Boy Scout of Union County. He was a member of the Young Cane Masonic Lodge F&AM and a longtime member of the North GA Honor Guard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fumiko Fujii Snow in 2004 and by a grandson, Jaimeson Snow in 2005.

John was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Snow are three sons and one daughter in law, Pat and Nadia Snow of Blue Ridge, John Snow of Blairsville and Henry Snow of Blairsville, one sister and brother in law, Loni and Larry Kemp of Sulfur, LA, four nieces, one nephew, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday March 19, 2016 at 4:30 pm from the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Chaplin Richard Hoibraten officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, John Snow III, Kyle Snow, Caleb Snow, Dillon Snow, Shawn Dyer, Tony Dyer and Junior Ensly. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, Bart Chitwood, Angus McGillis and Steve Foster. Military Honors will be conducted by the North GA. Honor Guard. John will rest next to his beloved wife, Fumiko.
