Mrs. Nellie Faye Beaver age 73 of Kings Mtn., NC., formerly of Blairsville passed away on Monday March 21, 2016 in the White Oak Manor in Kings Mtn. following an extended illness.

Mrs. Beaver was born on Jan. 18, 1943 in Clay County, NC., the daughter of the late Logan Halkom and the late Deila Kernea Halkom.

She was a Clay County native and lived most of her life in Union County, She loved flowers and gardening. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Press Beaver in 2005, her parents, two sisters, Lucille Garrett and JoAnn Rose and a brother, James Halkam.

Mrs. Beaver was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Beaver are one son and daughter in law, Ricky and Toni Totherow of Rocky Point, NC., one daughter, Rebecca Totherow of Kings, Mtn., NC., two brothers, Tommy Halkom of Pine Log, NC., Roger Dale Halkom of Blairsville, Brother in law, James Garrett of Blairsville, six grandchildren, George Totherow, Crystal Lowery, Jyl Sullivan, Christopher Totherow, Nancy Norse and Jeie Lawrence, eleven great grandchildren, Linda and Matthew Clark, Robert Norse, Mason, Colin and Essence Sullivan, Alaina, Ray, Brandon and Skyler Lowery, Brandon Artz Lawrence, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 24, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Luther Thomas and Rev. Jerry Beaver officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers Avery Mason, Alvin Beavers, Ronnie Odom and Ronnie Towery.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery where she will rest next to her beloved husband, Press.
