Nola Belle Martin, 90, of Blairsville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord April 22, 2016. She was born February 22, 1926, the daughter of the late Henry Grady Lockaby and Nancy Ethel Owenby Lockaby.

She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Stokley Lee Martin of Blairsville, son Rondal Martin and his wife Judith of Jonesboro Arkansas, daughter Helen (Holly) Martin Knight and husband David of Chapin South Carolina, grandsons Christopher Martin, Joseph Keeton, and Andrew Martin, granddaughters Janis Keeton Dempsey, and Katherine Martin Williams, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces. Nola was the eldest of brothers, Henry, Harold, Horace, Jack, and Max sisters Murval Ybarbo, Joyce Hughes, all deceased, and is survived by sister Bonita Lockaby Cook and husband Wayne of Bethlehem, Georgia.

For 17 years Nola was an LPN in general surgery/oncology at Timken Mercy Hospital in Canton, Ohio. One of her greatest pleasures was the many years of volunteer work as Superintendent of Sunday School for 4-5 year olds at the Canton Baptist Temple and as a youth Sunday School teacher at Choestoe Baptist Church near Blairsville.

Visitation hours are 6:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, April 25 at the Mountain View Funeral Home, 119 Murphy Hwy, Blairsville, GA. The funeral service will at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 26 at 4:00pm, the Rev. Ken Zollinger and the Rev.Dick Stillwell presiding. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1538 Pea Ridge Road, Blairsville.
