Mrs. Mary Gans Hoefs age 80 of Lakeview Drive Blairsville passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 3, 2016 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Hoefs was born on Oct. 15, 1935 in Hyattsville, MD, the daughter of the late Jack R. Gans and the late Thelma Wood Gans. She and her husband Edward had made their home in Blairsville since 1990. Mary Loved to paint, gardening and growing flowers. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Mary was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving Mary are her loving husband and best friend of sixty three years, Edward Hoefs of Blairsville, three daughters and one son in law, Debra and Robert Logsdon of West Palm Beach, FL., Cheryl Hoffman and her fiancé, Kevin Cox of Spring Field, MO, Linda Forrester and her fiancé, John Burns of Blairsville, one sister and brother in law, Jacqueline and John Adams of Pacific Palisade, CA., five grandchildren, Wesley and Reed Logsdon, Carrie Preisinger, Matthew Forrester and Robert Hoffman, four great grandchildren, Ava and Olivia Logsdon, Bryant and Kayden Preisinger, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in West Palm Beach, FL. in lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the American cancer Society in Mrs. Hoefs memory.
