Mrs. Shirley Kathryn Heck age 67 of Forge Mill Rd. Morganton passed away peacefully on Saturday June 11, 2016 in the Health Center at Standifer in Chattanooga following an extended illness.

Mrs. Heck was born on Feb. 4, 1949 in Baraboo, WI., the daughter of the late Ross Edward Deering and the late Audrey L. Stebler Deering. Shirley volunteered with Habitat For Humanity for over ten years and was an avid sponsor of Cancer Clinics. She was always a caring and giving person who was putting others needs before her own. Shirley had a heart that was made of gold. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Shirley was of the Christian faith.

Surviving Shirley are her loving husband and best friend of twenty eight years, Robert Powell Heck of Morganton, three sons, Ross, James and Mikel Myers all of New Hampshire, one sister, Elizabeth Deering of Morganton, nine grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held on Wednesday June 22, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Mountain View Chapel with Minister Greg Huskins officiating. Shirley’s favorite hymns will be presented for the service. In lieu of flowers if you wish the family requests that donations may be made to Habitat For Humanity or to the American Cancer Society in Shirley’s memory. The family will meet with friends following the services at the funeral home. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
