Mr. Charles Alvin Manders age 80 of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Saturday July 16, 2016 at Lazy R Assisted Living following an extended illness. Mr. Manders was born on May 20, 1936 in Watkinsville, GA., the son of the late John Lewis Manders and the late Panola Dooley Manders. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Charles loved bird watching, photography and music. He was a loving father, brothers and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Williams Manders in 1997, one son, Charles Tony Manders in 2011. Mr. Manders was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mr. Manders are one son and daughter in law, Duane and Kelley Manders of Blairsville, one sister, Hilda Flanagan of Virginia Beach, VA., one brother and sister in law, Harold and Dot Manders of Watkinsville, two grandchildren, Bethany and Reece Manders, several nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 19, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. George Cline and Rev. Tony Roberson officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the North GA. Honor Guard. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Danny Manders, Larry Davis and Jamie Conn. Interment will follow in the Oconee Memorial Park Cemetery in Watkinsville at 3:00 pm where he will rest next to his beloved wife Beverly. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8:00pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
