Mrs. Rosie Lillian McCarter age 54 of Blairsville passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday August 2, 2016 following a brief illness.

Mrs. McCarter was born on Nov. 28, 1961 in Young Harris, GA., the daughter of the late William Ralph Jones and the late Agnus Irene Combs Jones. She was a lifelong resident of Union County and was a 1979 graduate of Union County High School. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. Lillian loved traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim McCarter in 2004. Lillian was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. McCarter are one daughter and son in law, Tiffany and Bruce Partin of Young Harris, one sister, Janice Erwin of Blairsville, three brothers and two sisters in law, Bill and Jean Jones of Blairsville, Donald and Bonnie Jones of Blairsville, Ronald Jones of Blairsville, two grandchildren, Cameron and Zeke, nieces and nephews, Sheena, Shauna, Kyle, Isaac, Emily and John Jones, Blake Cunningham, Jessica Hill and Nicole Queen, many great nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 5, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Gary Rogers officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, David Elliott, John Jones, Blake Jones, Bruce Partin and Leslie Groves. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help to defray expenses in Lillian’s memory.
