Clyde Brown, 76, husband, father, grandfather, and dear friend to all, passed peacefully at his Blairsville Georgia home, on August 8, 2016, with his family by his side. Clyde was born September 15th, 1939, in Murphy, North Carolina– the son of the late Edna and Willard Brown. Clyde was a beloved husband, kind father, and encouraging grandfather. Clyde was of the Baptist faith, and he thanked God for every day he had with his family and for all of His many blessings. Clyde’s greatest joy was being a husband and father, but he cherished his grandchildren most of all. Clyde enjoyed the simple things in life: a good meal, a lighthearted laugh, bluegrass, and a Sunday ride with the love of his life, Anna. Although a man of few words, Clyde gave trademark advice and countless one-liners that brought laughter to many. Always greeted you with a “howdy” and left you with a “stay with us.” Clyde will be forever missed and his legacy will forever live on through his children and grandchildren. Mr. Brown is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Anna Brown of Blairsville, Georgia, one son and two daughters, and sons-in-law; his son Stanley Brown and fiancé Carolyn Hogan, of Hiawassee Georgia; Patricia and Earnest Cable of Marble, North Carolina; and Becky and David Feathers of Blairsville, Georgia. His grandchildren: Sonya, Branden, Jonathan, Kristen, Logan, Corey, and Josh also survive Clyde, in addition to; three great grandchildren, Brayden, Scarlett, and Hydie. He also leaves behind four siblings: Ruby Burrel of Peachtree, North Carolina; Geneva Dills of Hiawassee, Georgia; Willard Brown Jr. and Judy Brown of Peachtree, North Carolina; and Jimmy Brown of Marion North Carolina.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 7:00pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. David Feathers and Rev. Aud Brown officiating. Special music will be presented by: Kristen Feathers, Delin Brown, and Jennifer Marshall. The following gentleman will serve, as pallbearers: Stanley Brown, Robert Poteete, Delin Brown, Branden Cable, Jonathan Cable, Logan Feathers, Matthew Burrell, and Daniel Burrell. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Earnest Cable, Danny Arrowood, David Green, Lloyd Thomas, Doug Cothren, Wallace Shelton, Robby Patterson, Mitchell Foster, and Lee Cothren. Interment will follow on Friday. Flowers are accepted, or if you wish, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Clyde Brown. The family will receive friends at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday evening from 5 to 7pm.
