Mr. Furman “Wayne” Hedden age 64 of 4505 Gainesville Hwy Blairsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 10, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Hedden was born on July 11, 1952 in Franklin NC, the son of Furman Tillman Hedden and Leona Woods Hedden. Wayne loved farming, gardening and practical jokes. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. Wayne attended the First Baptist Church of Blairsville.

Surviving Mr. Hedden are his loving wife and best friend of forty one years, Gail Dyer Hedden of Blairsville, one son, Luke Hedden of Blairsville, one daughter and son in law, Leslie Jo and “Donnie” Simpson of Blairsville, granddaughter Sadie Jo Verena Simpson, siblings Bertha and Warren Bishop of Marshal NC, Grace Woods of Stanley NC, Janice Davis of Blairsville GA, Rose and Perry Abernathy of Dahlonega GA, and Dale and Michelle Hedden of McCaysville GA, and many other relatives and friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held Saturday August 13, 2016 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Jones officiating. Special music will be presented by the Trackrock Quartet. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Ronnie Norris, Jimmy Spivia, Ray Covington, James Fortenberry, Clint Seabolt, and Bobby Lance. Internment will follow at Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday August 12, 2016 between 6-9:00PM at Mountain View Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help defray expenses. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
