Annette Virginia McTaggart, age 74, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday August 30, 2016 at North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following an extended illness. Mrs. McTaggart was born on January 6, 1942 in Eastman, Georgia to the late Alton and Bessie Woodard Williams. She had been a resident of Union County for the past 15 years. Annette took an active part in the We Care Group as well as the Track Rock Volunteers, and was an avid piano player. She was a member of New Life Family Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McTaggart was preceded in death by her husband Howard McTaggart who passed away in 2006, and her sister Barbara Conrad and her grandson Heath Davis.

Surviving Mrs. McTaggart are her daughter and son-in-law, Amelia & Charles Brickey of Murphy, NC, son Nathan McTaggart and his fiancé, Rebia Siggers of Blairsville, and son, Larry McTaggart of Blairsville. One sister, Beverly Vaughn of Eastman, Georgia, Three grandchildren, Tanya & Jerome Walker of Weaverville, NC, Michelle McTaggart and fiancé Brad Dodson of Stockbridge, GA and Taylor & Wes Strickland of Eastman, GA, seven great-grandchildren, Tyler & Kiona Lambert, Makayla Lambert, Victoria Lambert, Scarlett Walker, Carrie Walker, McKenzie Dodson, and Parker Dodson, and one great-great grandchild, Brent Lambert. A nephew Philip Vaughn of Eastman,Ga. A host of other family and friends also survive.

Funeral services for Annette will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday September 3, 2016 from the New Life Family Church with Rev. Don Parmely officiating. Mrs. McTaggart will lie in state at the church prior to the service hour on Saturday from 11-1:00. Special music will be provided by members of New Life Family Church. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The New Life Family Church building fund in Annette’s memory.
