Mrs. Anita Blanche Campbell Padgett age 89 of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Wednesday Oct. 19, 2016 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Padgett was born on Dec. 13, 1926 in Sandersville, GA., the daughter of the late Leon Campbell and the late Blanche Hawkins Campbell. Anita was an avid Bridge Player and taught Bridge at Oasis. She was a true Southern Belle and loved playing the piano. She and her husband Charles spent four years traveling North America in their RV. She was very active in her church and especially Oasis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Padgett Sr. in 2011 and a sister, Mary Riner. Anita was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blairsville.

Surviving Mrs. Padgett are two sons, Charles Padgett Jr. of Demorest and Mark Padgett of Canton, GA and his two children, Adam and Kristen Padgett both of Canton, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Friday October 28, 2016 at 4:00 pm from the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Burgess officiating. Special music will be presented by Jeff Bauman. Flowers are accepted or if you wish donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church for Oasis in memory of Mrs. Padgett. The family will meet with friends following the service. Interment will follow in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville, GA. where she will rest next to her beloved husband Charles.
