Mr. Donald Melvin Diemer age 84 of Huntsville, Al., formerly of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Saturday October 22, 2016 . Mr. Diemer was born on April 26, 1932 in Cincinnati, OH., the son of the late Melvin Diemer and the late Catherine Gehring Diemer. He was a veteran of the US Air Force of the Korean War. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Kenealy Diemer in 2009 and a daughter, Cindy Jeffries in 1999.

Surviving Mr. Diemer are two sons, Michael Diemer of Boiling Springs, SC., Tom Diemer of Tallahassee, FL., two daughters and sons in law, Donna and Bill Waldron of Great Mills, MD., Kathy and Jeff McFetridge of Huntsville, AL., twelve grandchildren, Matthew and Tommy Jeffries, Alex, Nick and Catherine Diemer, Maggie, Katie, Vickie and Debbie Waldron, Jake and Sam McFetridge and Jose Diemer

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday October 27, 2016 at 11:00 am from the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Richard Wise and Deacon Larry Casey officiating. Interment will be in St. Clare’s Haven cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:00 pm with a Rosary to be held at 6:30.
