Mr. George Alan Magoon age 82 of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Monday November 14, 2016 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Magoon was born on August 17, 1934 in Ellen Burg, NY., the son of the late Walter Magoon and the late Edna Sargent Magoon. George retired from the US Air Force with over twenty years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was Past Master of the Safety Harbor Masonic Lodge F&AM and attended Young Cane Lodge in Blairsville. He enjoyed camping and being outdoors. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary George Magoon in 2011. George was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving Mr. Magoon are his loving wife and best friend of sixty years, Maureen Mullins Magoon of Blairsville, one son and daughter in law, Ian and Jackie Magoon of Oldsmar, FL., one daughter and son in law, Catharine Ann and Jeff Parker of Fairfield, CA., one grandson, Daniel George Magoon, many other relatives and friends also survive.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Union County Humane Society in Mr. Magoon’s memory.
