Vonnie Lou Warren, 98, of Blairsville, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday November 23, 2016 following an extended illness. Mrs. Warren was born in Union County on January 5, 1918 to Ben & Bell Jones Garrett. She was a lifelong resident of Union County and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Vonnie enjoyed taking care of children, sewing, quilting and gardening. Mrs. Warren is preceded in death by her husband, Grady Warren who passed away in 2006, two children, Jerry Warren & Joy Dean Warren and two sisters, Bonnie Garrett & Grace Duval.

Vonnie is survived by four children, Eulene Deaver of Blairsville, Shirley Blankenship of Blairsville, Monroe Warren of Murphy, NC & Ricky Warren of Blairsville. Nine Grandchildren, Lisa, Bryan, Tammy, Eric, Kevin, Shane, Christina, Tiffany & Brittany. Twenty Great Grandchildren, Ten Great-Great Grandchildren, and a host of other family & friends also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Warren will be held on Saturday November 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marty Duncan officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Terry Kane, Kyle Wilson, Freddy Pereze, Kebin warren, Colby Warren & Bryan Plott. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11-2:00 PM on Saturday prior to the service hour. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
