Mrs. Doris Dillard Donaldson age 79 of  Canton, GA. formerly of Blairsville passed away on Tuesday Dec. 13, 2016 in Woodstock following an extended illness. Mrs. Donaldson was born on Jan. 22, 1937 in Union County, the daughter of the late Colebert Dillard and the late June Pierce Dillard. Doris loved to travel with her husband and going on cruises. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother and a sister and brother in law, Opal and Lee Bridges. Mrs. Donaldson was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Donaldson are her loving husband of sixty years, E.J. Donaldson of Canton, GA., one daughter and son in law, Jennifer and Todd Lagessie of Jacksonville, AL., one son, Ted Donaldson of Canton, GA., one grand daughter Marina Lagessie of Jacksonville, AL., many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 17, 2016 at 12:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Winfred Pitts officiating. Special music will be presented by Winfred and Patsy Pitts. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Jack, Joe and Danny Dillard, Lonnie and Justin McCray and Todd Lagessie. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, donations may be made to the National Alzheimer’s Foundation in memory of Mrs. Donaldson. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-12:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
