Mrs. Sue Juanita Summerour age 89 of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Tuesday Dec. 27, 2016 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Sue was born on Feb. 23, 1927 in Union County the daughter of the late William Frank Summerour and the late Florence E. Gillispie Summerour. She was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. Sue loved the Atlanta Braves, growing flowers and gardening. She was an AMWAY Distributor for many years. She was a loving sister, aunt and was a friend to many. Sue was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and Eugene Summerhour, also four sisters, Maggilee Gooch, Lovell Owenby, Frankie Fortenberry and Kathryn Bachelor. Mrs. Summerour was a member of Coosa United Methodist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Summerour are one sister, Shirley Brackett of Blairsville, nephew and niece, Mike and Susan Bachelor of Blairsville, nephew, Glenn Brackett of Blairsville, several other nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services will be held on Friday December 30, 2016 at 2:30 pm from the Coosa United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery where she will rest next to her parents, William and Florence. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Union County Nursing Home Activities Dept. in Sue’s memory. The family will meet with friends following the services. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
