Mrs. Luna Swain age 92 of Blairsville, GA passed away on Wednesday Jan. 4, 2017 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Swain was born on Feb. 3, 1924 the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Johnson and the late Mary Hawkins Johnson. She grew up in Cartersville, GA and has lived in Blairsville since 1940. She was a member of Salem Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Swain in 1982 and eight children, Shirley Ann, Billy, Sarah Ann, Joyce Swain Dyer, Jane Swain Kitchens, Billy Sue, Luna Joan and Eddie Swain, a grandson Gregory Moose, four brothers, Dennis, Amos, J.C. and Ray Johnson, three sisters, Iona Akins, Mae Hardin and Essie Craft.

Surviving Mrs. Swain are four grandchildren, Sharon and Chris Furby, Mary Ann and Junior Gaddis, Sonya and Byron Rhodes, B.J. and Abby Kitchens, great grandchildren, Timothy Moose, Evan and Zek Furby, Alek and Jake Ingram, Rylee, Brenlee, Cruz and Bentlee Kitchens, Brady and Madi Gaddis two great-great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday Jan.7, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Mountain View Chapel with Pastor Ray Potts and Rev. Dick Stillwell officiating. Special music will be presented by Rylee, Brenlee and Abby Kitchens. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, B.J. Kitchens, Evan Furby, Ricky Dyer, Jake Ingram, Charles Moose, Chris Furby, Wayne Craft and Byron Rhodes. Interment will follow in the Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery where she will rest next to her beloved husband Edward. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11-2:00 pm . Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
