Mr. Billy Rudolph Carlyle age 70 of  Blairsville passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 17, 2017 in the Chatuge Regional Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Carlyle was born on Nov. 11, 1946 in Monroe, GA., the son of the late James Wiley Carlyle and the late Claudia Mae Wills Carlyle. Billy loved watching westerns and driving through the mountains. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Rose Carlyle in 2008. Mr. Carlyle was a member of Owl Town Church of God.

Surviving Mr. Carlyle are three step children, Melonie Sexton, Pam Spiva and Jeff Spiva all of Lula, GA., one sister and brother in law, Barbara and Alvin Payne of Winder, two brothers and one sister in law, Herman and Latricia Carlyle and Ricky Carlyle all of Statham, GA., fifteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday Jan. 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm from the Owltown Church of God Cemetery with Rev. Michael Anderson officiating. The family will meet with friends following the services at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help defray expenses in Mr. Carlyle’s memory.
