Mr. Donald “Don” Beavers age 76 of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Friday January 20, 2017 in the Union General Hospital surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness.

Mr. Beavers was born on Jan. 18, 1941 in Union County, the son of the late Norman Beavers and the late Ruby Prince Beavers. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. Don enjoyed riding in the mountains and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his grandchild, Amanda Beavers Irick, three brothers, Albert, Dewey and Tasker Beavers and two sisters, Hazel Beavers and Margie Raper. Mr. Beavers was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Beavers are his loving wife of forty eight years, Annie Lou Hatchett Beavers of Blairsville, three daughters and sons in law, Daisy and Marvin Maney of Hayesville, Donna and Tony Worley of Blairsville, Mary and Richard Stemple of Blairsville, one brother and sister in law, Lawrence and Virgina Beavers of Morganton, one sister, Shelby Jean Davemport of Morganton, five grandchildren, Stephanie Newton, David and Daniel Worley, Andy Deyton and Chad Stemple, three great grandchildren, Little John Newton, Bentliey and Evan Worley, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday Jan. 22, 2017 ay 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Minister Terry Stuart officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers, David, Daniel and Tony Worley, Andy Deyton, Richard and Chad Stemple, Casey Long and Stephanie Newton. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help defray expenses in Don’s memory.
