Mrs. Delores L. Jenkins passed away Thursday, March 2, 20107 at Copper Basin Hospital in Tennessee. She was born in Fannin County on September 4, 1941; she was 75 years old. Her parents were Willard and Bonnie Walker.
She is survived by her loving and loyal husband of 58 years, Jerry Jenkins. She had two children, daughter Rhonda Jenkins, and the late Russell Jenkins, and his wife Grace. She had three grandchildren, Ashley Sortino, Ryan Jenkins, and Wesley Jenkins; and two great grandchildren, Mora and Ryu Jenkins. She is also survived by her sister Elain Moody, and brothers McCoy and Tyson Walker, and many nieces and nephews. Her working career includes working for the US Government in Atlanta, GA and Dallas, TX for 20 years; then another 20 years for the Florida Power Corp. in St. Petersburg, FL. Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 4, 1998, she served her God Jehovah for nearly 20 year. She was a kind and sweet person, wanting to share her faith with everyone she could. She put the needs of others before her own, a truly loving person. John 5:28 says “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life…” Delores strongly believed in these comforting words.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. The address is: 11 Paradise Road, the corner of Hwy 129 South and Paradise Road.
