Mrs. Dolores Marie McConnell age 85 of  Blairsville passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. McConnell was born on January 29, 1932 in Corry, PA., the daughter of the late Clarence Earl McCray and the late Bessie Ingalls McCray. She loved gardening and working outdoors. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Burton McConnell in 2014, a brother, Elwin and two sisters, Frances and Viola. Dolores was a member of the Mountain Presbyterian Church.

Surviving Mrs. McConnell are three sons and one daughter in law, Brad McConnell, Rodney McConnell, Randy and Kim McConnell all of Blairsville, two grandchildren, Jeff and Frances McConnell and Jenna and Nathan Drake, two great grandchildren, Emma and Kolby McConnell, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:00 am from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Travis Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. where she will rest next to her beloved husband Joseph. The family will meet with friends following the service. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, donations may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Mrs. McConnell’s memory. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
