Mrs. Mary Lois Dyer age 90 of  Blairsville passed away peacefully on Sunday April 9, 2017 in the Union County Nursing following an extended illness.

Mrs. Dyer was born on Jan. 7, 1927 in Union County, the daughter of the late Claude Plott and the late Flossie Owenby Plott. She was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. Mary loved fishing, growing flowers and espially being with her family. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Garland Dyer in 1970 and a son, Clarence Garland Dyer Jr. (Jake) in 2009. Mary was a member of the House of Prayer Church.

Surviving Mrs. Dyer are two sons and daughters in law, Quinton and Jean Dyer of Blairsville, J.M. and Clara Dyer of Blairsville, one sister, Zelma Henderson of Blairsville, four grandchildren, Mandy and Jamie King, Ashley and Jeremy Warren, Allison and Tony Inman, Craig and Valerie Dyer, four great grandchildren, Ethan King, Kaitlyn King, Baila Warren and Henry Inman, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Special music will be presented by the Henderson Family. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Jamie King, Ethan King, Jeremy Warren, Tony Inman, Larry Henderson and Ernie Harkins. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery where she will rest next to her beloved husband Clarence. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
