Mrs. Mary Diane Stroud age 72 of Blairsville formerly of Acworth, GA. passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday April 13, 2017 following a brief illness. Mrs. Stroud was born on June 29, 1944 in Atlanta, GA., the daughter of the late Home Painter and the late Ruth McIntire Painter. Mary’s life was her family and grandchildren. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Mary was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Stroud are her loving husband of forty years, Leon Stroud of Blairsville, two sons and daughters in law, Todd and Karen Burdett, Jack and Kara Holt all of Acworth, two daughters and one son in law, Angie Watson of Acworth, Crystal and Derrek Aber of Woodstock, one sister and brother in law, Peggy and Larry Morrow of Temple, seven grandchildren, Lindsey, Courtney, Cory, Alissa, Ansley, Kaylee and Noah, two great grandchildren, Julian and Liam, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday April 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta with the Rev. Daniel Latham officiating. Interment will follow in the Rolling Hills Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the Collins Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 5-8:00 pm.
