Mrs. Quillene L. Markert, age 92  formerly of Lakeland FL, passed away peacefully Friday, May 12, 2017 following an extended illness. Mrs. Markert was born May 15, 1924, in Carl, GA, the daughter of the late James Lowe and Irene Hudlow Lowe. Mrs. Markert worked in the banking industry for many years as a loan officer for Sunshine State Bank. One of Mrs. Markert’s favorite past times was playing bridge and knitting with friends. Mrs. Markert was preceded in death by her husband William L. Markert in 2000, her sister Nina Danforth in 1997, and grandson Jamie Markert in 1992.

Surviving Mrs. Markert are her daughter and son-in-law Renie and Lew Royals of Ocoee,TN, son and daughter-in-law William and Pam Markert of Marietta, GA, son and daughter-in-law Terry and Becky Markert of Decatur, GA, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Brenda Markert of Cleveland, TN, grandchildren Shannon Russie, Brian Reynolds, Amy White, Michael Markert, Andy Markert, Paul Markert, Christina Brown; great grandchildren Austin Reynolds, Jessica Nutt, Kylie White, Patrick Myers, Gavin Markert, and Tate White; as well as several great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends also survive.

The family will greet family and friends for visitation and viewing on Tuesday. May 16th, 2017 between 1:00-2:45 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home of Blarisville,GA. A Grave-side service for Mrs. Markert will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 3:00PM at the Union Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Blairsville, with the Rev. George Cline officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Andy Markert, Austin Reynolds, Paul Markert, Keith White, Michael Markert, and Brian Reynolds. The family will accept flowers, or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. Markert.
