Mrs. Bonita Helen Roberts age 74 of Murphy passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday July 13, 2017 surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness. Mrs. Roberts was born on Jan. 29, 1943 in Murphy, NC., the daughter of the late Hadley McKinley Roberson and the late Lottie Thompson Roberson. Bonita enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading. She loved working in the church nursery and with AWANAS. She was a loving wife, sister and was a friend to so many. She was preceded in death by her parents Hadley and Lottie Roberson and three brothers, Clyde, Aleck and Jack Roberson. Bonita was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Roberts are her loving husband and best friend of fifty four years, Junior Ray Roberts of Murphy, one sister and brother in law, Arlene and John Gaddis of Marietta, a host of her church family, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 15, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. George Cline officiating. Special music will be presented by Patsy Phillips and Danita Kennedy. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Duane Manders, Steve Drake Clarence Phillips, Terry Kintz, Tony Roberson and Jonathan Lodge. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jim Ackels, Gus Grader and Charlie Gregory. Interment will follow in the Bell View Community Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in Bonita’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12-2:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
