Mrs. Kathy Rose (Thomas) Arteaga age 63 of Lula, GA., formerly of Blairsville passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday July 18, 2017 following an extended illness. Kathy was born on March 8, 1954 in Hiawassee, GA., the daughter of the late Naaman Thomas and the late Sarah Norwood Thomas. Kathy loved her family dearly and loved shopping and spending time with her family. Her family was her life. She was such a kind and good hearted lady. She was preceded in death by her parents and also a brother, Edward Thomas and two sisters, Vella Orr and Evelyn Black. Kathy attended the Lula First Baptist Church.

Surviving Kathy are her loving husband and best friend of twenty one years, Juan Manuel Arteaga of Lula, two daughters, Misty Morgan and Jasmin Arteaga both of Lula, one son and daughter in law, Joey and Elizabeth Gibbs of Blue Ridge, two brothers and one sister in law, Joe and Pearl Thomas of Lula, Larry Thomas of Blairsville, four sisters and two brothers in law, Angela Tallant of Blue Ridge, Nancy and Jim Frankenberg of Lula, Faye Duckworth of Blairsville, Judy and Ronnie Hughes of Blairsville, two grandchildren, Zachary and Dakota Gibbs, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday July 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Joe Thomas officiating. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-9:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
