Mrs. Barbara Joan Marletter age 75 of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Sunday July 30, 2017 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Marletter was born on Feb. 20, 1942 in Havertown, PA., the daughter of the late Thomas Keenan and the late Elizabeth Lewis Keenan. Barbara retired from Publix Grocery after over thirty years of service. She enjoyed reading, beading and crafts in her spare time. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. Her family admires her for after losing her husband at a young age, she raised and provided for her children, giving them the materials things in life, but most of all was the love that she had for them. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Kenneth Marletter II and two sisters, Anna Mae Higgins and Kay DeAntonio Barbara was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving Barbara are one son and daughter in law, John and Sandra Marletter III of Blairsville, one daughter, Joan Bowling of Easley, SC., one sister, Betty Gittin of Springfield, PA., two grandchildren, Michael Bowling of Rockhill, SC., Katie and John Hardesty of Easley, SC., . She was loved by Sandy’s Family, son Dickie and Latrece Mills, family April and Joe Cordova, family Jeff Mills and family, Margaret Flesher and Debbie Kinnett. many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date with interment to follow in Ft. Myers, FL. where she will rest next to her beloved husband John. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in memory of Mrs. Marletter.
