Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Jones Photianos, age 85, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at home surrounded by her family who loved her very much.
Mrs. Photianos was born March 6, 1932. She was a daughter of Ed & Pearl Jones. Ed was a former sheriff for Union County for many years. She loved to tell people stories of growing up in the jail. Barbara was a native of Blairsville, and from 1950 – 1983 she lived in the Atlanta area. This is where she met her husband of 39 years, Terry. In 1983, Barbara and Terry moved back to Blairsville. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville, and was a mighty prayer warrior, who faithfully prayed for any needs she was aware of. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and will always be remembered for her servant’s heart and faithful prayers. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Barbara will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but especially missed by her loving family members: son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Pat Photianos, of Kennesaw, Georgia; and Tracie and Mark Irvin, of Blairsville; grandchildren: Stephen Photianos, Adam Irvin, Lyndsey Irvin, Lorene Irvin, and Joanna Irvin; great grandchildren: Ava Michelle Irvin, Kevin Anthony Irvin, Aurora Elaine Photianos, Madelyn Photianos, Veronica Photianos, and John Photianos. Many other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Mark Jones officiating.
