Mrs. Elnor Berkley Gelpi, age 87 of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Stonehenge Assisted Living following an extended illness. Mrs. Gelpi was born on August 2, 1930 in Mount Sydney, VA., the daughter of the late Edward McCue and Bernice Jones McCue. Mrs. Gelpi traveled the world and loved getting into mischief. She worked as a toll taker for the State of Florida for 10 years, before relocating to the Blairsville area in 1992. Mrs. Gelpi was preceded in death by her husband, John Gelpi in 2007, and her daughter Lynette Lalka in 2010. Mrs. Gelpi was a member of Coosa Methodist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Gelpi are her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Donald Smith of Blairsville, GA, son and daughter-in-law John and Carla Davis of South Fork, PA, brother and sister-in-law Edward and Mary McCue of St. Paul, MN, sister and brother-in-law Sarah and Thomas Starkey of Harrisburg, VA, grandchildren Steve Phipps, Karen Phipps, Nolen Scaggs, Carlin Scaggs, Waylon Scaggs, John Davis, Laura Mudd, Thomas Blane Mudd, Sandra Mallinger, fourteen great grandchildren, and many other friends and relatives also survive.

A graveside service for Mrs. Gelpi on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 12:00pm at the Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Fort Defiance, VA. The family will meet with friends and relatives on Friday prior to the service between the hours of 11:00am and 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church in memory of Mrs. Gelpi.
