Mrs. Patty Travis Evans age 83 of Blairsville passed away on Monday October 30, 2017 in the North East Ga Medical Center following several months of suffering from pneumonia complications.
Patty was born on June 1, 1934 in Gordon, GA., the only daughter of the late Roscoe Travis and the late Edna Wood Travis. Patty retired from the Tift County Health Department in 1996 where she served as a Registered Nurse for many years. She enjoyed living in Choestoe Valley and enjoyed the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. Patty loved growing flowers and working crossword puzzles. She was a true Southern Belle Lady. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark George Evans in 2012. Patty was a member of the North Side Baptist Church in Tifton.
Surviving Mrs. Evans are her loving husband and best friend of sixty one years, George Evans of Blairsville, one daughter, Elizabeth (Beth) Evans Butler of Tifton, one son, David Evans of Blairsville, four grandchildren, Corey Butler of Tifton, Dante Silver Evans of Jersey City, NJ., Luke Taylor Baker of IL., Laken Evans of Tifton, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 4, 2017 at 3:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Minister Terry Stuart officiating. Special music will be presented by Gene and Gina Sorenson. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Homes in Patty’s memory.
