BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. – UPDATE: Union County Schools has announced early release today. Buses will begin running at 12:30 p.m.

BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. Jan. 16, 3:30 a.m. – UPDATE – Wind chill advisory, winter weather advisory – The latest weather advisory from the National Weather Service is predicting light snow Tuesday from noon to 7 a.m. Wednesday and wind chill temperatures between 10 degrees above zero to 10 degrees below zero from 9 p.m. Tuesday evening until 8 a.m. Thursday for north Georgia, including Union County. No school or local government agency closings have been posted at this time.

BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. Jan. 15, 2:25 p.m. – Another winter weather warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) for north Georgia, generally north of a line from Cedartown to Jasper to Hiawassee, calling for light snow on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 16, and single-digit temperatures Tuesday night with below zero wind chill temperatures after midnight Tuesday. Be aware that frostbite is a real danger under these conditions. This is a weather warning, not a weather watch, meaning this weather is imminent. Act accordingly. No school or local government agency closings have been posted at this time.
