Mr. John W. Maynard, age 91 of Blairsville, GA passed away Friday March 2, 2018 in Chatuge Nursing Home in Towns County, GA after an extended illness.  He was born July 18, 1926 in Center Square, PA to the late Gerald L and Marietta (Lawson) Maynard.  He was a member of Coosa United Methodist Church. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a U.S. Postal Letter Carrier and enjoyed his retirement years working outside in his yard.  He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara W. Maynard.

Survivors include a son Jay Maynard, step- children William Field, Terri Vincent and Nancy Holland, 2 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his siblings Betty Pennock and Herbert Maynard.

On Friday, March 30th at 1:00 pm a graveside prayer will be offered by Rev Roy Watkins at the Coosa United Methodist Church located at 767 Mulky Gap Road Blairsville Ga. 30512. The family will meet with friends following the service.
