Mr. Edward Harper Stapleton age 64 of Lakeland, FL., passed away peacefully on Monday July 23, 2018 at the home of his brother following an extended illness. Mr. Stapleton was born on November 23, 1953 in Greensboro, GA., the son of Laura Jeanne Harper Stapleton and the late David Stapleton.  Edward had retired from Great Northern Food’s after many years of service. He was a loving son, brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgianne Giddeons Stapleton in 2011, his son, Nick Stapleton in 2007 and his father David Stapleton in 1969. Mr. Stapleton was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Stapleton are his mother, Laura Stapleton Stewart of Union Point, GA., one brother and sister in law, George and Janet Stapleton of Blairsville, one sister, Libby Martin of Greensboro, GA., nieces and nephews, Amanda and Jeff Bryan of Leesburg, GA., Blair Stapleton of Lafayette, LA., Brandon and Megan Stapleton of Blairsville, Lauren Phillips of Greensboro, GA., Lindsey and Tracy Merritt of Eatonton, GA.,, several great nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 25, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Homer Helton officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to a favorite charity of your choice in Mr. Stapleton’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-2:00 pm. Entombment will follow on Friday at 2:00 pm from the Lakeland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lakeland, FL.
