Dorothy Mae South Leroux was born in Dayton, OH on January 31, 1932. She married Winston Leroux at age 16 and they had two daughters: Rene’ Annette Leroux O’Connell and Denise Elaine Leroux Zagrocki.
She lived in Orlando, FL before moving to Hayesville, NC to live with her daughter, Denise, and son-in-law Dwain Zagrocki.
She enjoyed gardening and volunteering in Orlando for BETA, an organization that helped single mothers by taking care of their babies while they finished their education. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and playing card and board games and watching game shows on TV.
She had a career in advertising and worked as chief copywriter for Stonebrook Advertising Agency doing advertising for Belks. She is survived by her daughter Denise Zagrocki and her husband Dwain, and grandchildren Joe Mouad, Rami Mouad, and Amira Mouad,Christopher Ian Maclead and Sean Edward O’Connell, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 18, 2018 2:00pm from the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Hayesville with Rev. Bill Breedlove officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Mrs. Leroux. The family will meet with friends at the church following the services.
