Thomas Andrew “TA” Floyd

The Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas Andrew “TA” Floyd who passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Floyd was a lifelong resident on Union County and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Masons. T.A. loved to raise, train, show and trade horses. He also enjoyed buying older tractors, restoring them to better than new condition, and then selling them so that he could buy and restore another.

T.A. is survived by his wife, Dorothy McCarter Floyd, daughter Jackie Floyd Sexton and her husband, Michael of Cumming, GA; Son Tommy Floyd and his wife, Lisa of Canton, GA; Sister, Verna Puett of Blairsville; brother, Kenneth Floyd of Blairsville and sister, Jo Ann Miriani of Detroit, MI; and grandchildren, Christopher Sexton and Casey Floyd. Many other relatives and a host of friends also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Martin, Rev. Bryan Mason and Rev. RL Martin officiating. Special music will be presented by Teren Hooper accompanied by his father, Terry Hooper. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Dwayne Sexton, Chris Sexton, Ray Woodruff, Paul Puett, Jr., Phil Vinh, and Jim Holzinger. Honorary escort will include Charlie Shirley and Mike Arnold.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.
