Lauretta Marie Carr
February 12, 1943 – November 13, 2018
Mrs. Lauretta Marie Carr age 75 of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 13, 2018 at Stonehenge following an extended illness. Mrs. Carr was born on Feb. 12, 1943 in Bangor, ME., the daughter of the late Edward Michael MacDonald and the late Yvonne Elizabeth Michaud MacDonald. Mrs. Carr loved quilting, cooking, Southern Gospel music, and family. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Carr in 2011. Mrs. Carr was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Carr are one son and daughter in law, Mark and Micki Carr of Blairsville, one daughter and son in law, Debbie- Jo and Keith Barley of Pace, FL., two brothers and sisters in law, Neil and Jeanne MacDonald of Hermon, ME., Mike and Donna MacDonald of Newburgh, ME., one sister and brother in law, Ann-Marie and Richard Madore of Hampden, ME., four grandchildren, Michael Carr, James Oliver, Mandi Zeger and Eric Oliver, five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 24, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. George Cline officiating, eulogy by granddaughter Mandi Zeger. Special music will be presented by Mark Carr and Kaley Raper. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Michael Carr, Richard Madore, Neil MacDonald, Mike MacDonald, James Oliver and Jesse Zeger. Interment will follow in the church cemetery where she will rest next to her beloved husband Wendell. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Music Ministry or to Georgia Mountain Hospice in Mrs. Carr’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the Antioch Baptist Church on Saturday Nov. 24, 2018 from 2:00-3:00 pm.
