Rex Edward Fultz Sr.
June 30, 1930 – November 17, 2018
Mr. Rex Edward Fultz age 88 of Fairview Church Rd. Blairsville formerly of Peru, IN. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday November 17, 2018 following an extended illness. Mr. Fultz was born on June 30, 1930 in Denver, IN., the son of the late Donald Edward Fultz and the late Ruth Louise Ream Fultz. He had made his home in Blairsville since 1972.He retired from Siemens after many years of service. He was a veteran of the US Marines of the Korean War. He was a member of the Tucker Masonic Lodge F&AM. Rex loved fishing, golfing and traveling with his wife Della. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Bruce Dwayne Fultz, a daughter, Cathy Rexine Harden, a brother, Raymond Fultz and three sisters, Lois Fultz, Margaret Anderson and Shirley Barron. Mr. Fultz was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mr. Fultz are his loving wife and best friend of forty six years, Della Mae Payne Fultz of Blairsville, one son and daughter in law, Rex and Cindy Fultz Jr. of Thomaston, GA., his step children, Wendall Garrett, Teresa Jones and Scott Garrett all of McDonough, GA., one brother, Larry Fultz of Apple Valley, CA., six grandchildren, Bruce and Joseph Harden, Amy and Chuck Fultz, Angie and Amber Carter, many great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday November 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Jason Helton officiating. Special music will be presented by Evan Hughes. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Joseph Harden, Chuck Fultz, Larry Payne, Jacob Jones, Luke Jones and Bruce Harden. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with the North GA Honor Guard conducting Military Honors. Flowers are accepted of if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or to Homestead Hospice in memory of Mr. Fultz. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-9:00 pm.
