Fredrica Dianne Segars: Obituary

Mrs. Fredrica (Rica) Dianne Segars age 74 of Bell Creek Rd. Hiawassee passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loving family on Sunday July 7, 2019 following an extended illness. Mrs. Segars was born on Sept. 1, 1944 in Albemarle, NC., the daughter of the late Henry John Rosenkranz and the late Mary Elizabeth Drye Rosenkranz Stewart.  Rica was raised in Clay County and resided there until she married Thomas in 1968 when they moved overseas for sixteen years to follow her husband’s Military career. She was a Registered Nurse for many years and loved caring for others. She enjoyed reading and water skiing in her spare time.  She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Fredrica was preceded in death by her parents and also a brother, Louis Howard Rosenkranz who passed away in 2010. Mrs. Segars was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Segars are her loving husband and best friend of fifty one years, Thomas Edward Segars Sr. of Hiawassee,  two sons and one daughter in law, Gary Segars of Hiawassee, Thomas and Aimee Segars Jr., one daughter, Michelle Segars of Las Vegas, NV., one brother and sister in law, Henry John and Susan Rosenkranz of Monroe, GA., five grandchildren, Jonathon, Savannah, Garrett, Kaison and Nora, one great grandchild, Rory, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday July 11, 2019 at 5:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Jackie Sellers officiating. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Mrs. Segars memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-5:00 pm.

Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
