Mr. Anceberry Burnette age 94 of Murphy Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home on Wednesday September 11, 2019 following an extended illness. Mr. Burnette was born on October 24, 1924 in Dahlonega, GA., the son of the late John Calvin Burnette and the late Sarah Alice Seabolt Burnette. He was a lifelong resident of Union County. He was a veteran and POW of the US Army of WWII. He was the last living POW from Union County. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great and great-great grandfather. Anceberry was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Sullivan, two brothers, Hurvey and Harley Burnette, seven sisters, Naomi Reece, Lillie Reece, Mattie Bell Cantrell, Avie Reece, Bonnie Burnette, Carrie Fields and Della Dyer. Mr. Burnette was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Burnette are three sons and two daughters in law, Johnny Burnette, Gary and Pearlene Burnette, Ronnie and Lucy Burnette, one daughter, Katherine Lloyd all of Blairsville, one sister, Lela Stephens of Blairsville, twenty grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday Sept. 14, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel. Interment will follow in the Owltown Church of God Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the North GA Honor Guard. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-9:00 pm.
